Creating pans and zooms on images in After Effects
- One of my favorite things to do is to use After Effects to create very aesthetically pleasing, documentary-style photo moves on images. That's because After Effects has a really high quality scaler and some great tools to allow you to precisely pan and scan moving around the photo. Let me give you a quick introduction to this and I do have a full length course that explores many more techniques that you might want to check out. In this project that I've opened, I've already brought in a few things. You'll notice a composition called Pans and one called End. We're just going to work with one photo here, and in this case, it's a low angle picture with the statue. Well, what I want to do is to convert this to some standard wide angle footage. If you take a look at the Pans composition here, nothing's been animated yet, but the composition settings are set for a standard video format of 16 by 9 and 29.97. What we're going to…
