- [Instructor] Don't be annoyed that Windows updates frequently. Consider it part of your computer's defense. An up-to-date PC is a secure PC. Options are available to control Windows update, including those surprise updates that restart your computer seemingly without warning. The Windows update feature provides updates for the Windows operating system, including security patches and full updates to a new version. It also updates some Windows programs as well as malware definitions for the Windows Security app. Not every Windows update requires that the computer restart. Many do, however, in fact, if the update is serious enough your computer may restart automatically. Don't fret Windows attempts to reopen any open programs you had though with mixed results in my experience. Also, these restarts tend to happen on a Tuesday or Wednesday night, at least for me, which makes no difference unless you catch the update notice, and…
