- [Narrator] A printer is really a separate computer, one that focuses on two tasks, printing documents, and consuming expensive ink. Seriously, the printing task is often confounded somewhere between you issuing the print command and the result resting in the printer's paper tray. The journey begins in a program such as Excel here where the print command is issued. Universally, it's the Control P keyboard shortcut, which displays a print dialogue box, or here in Microsoft office, you see this print screen. Pay attention to this preview. If the program lacks a preview window, you can choose a print preview command from a file menu. But your duty here is to confirm that everything looks correct regarding headers, footers, margins, and other visual items. The printed copy must look like this or something is awry.
