- [Presenter] So how does the future look for RISC-V? Will it stand the test of time or is it just a passing trend? Of course, no one can predict the future, but here are some interesting points for you to draw your own conclusions. First, the development of RISC-V dates back to the 1980s when the RISC philosophy was born at UC Berkeley. Since then, RISC processors have been implemented by numerous vendors with tremendous success in mobile devices where ARM is the dominant architecture. This all means that RISC-V already had a head start when it was announced in 2010. By the way, did you know that the R in ARM stands for RISC? This shows that the RISC philosophy is already accepted today. And guess what? RISC-V is the fifth generation of the original Berkeley RISC architecture.
