- [Instructor] In the last movie, we used Microsoft Power BI Desktop to publish a PBIX file, which contains a report in a semantic model here for our use in the Power BI Service. Power BI Desktop is a great tool used for data modeling, but the problem with it is that the only version that's available is for Microsoft Windows. So if you're a Mac user, what are your options? Well, one option of course would be to run some kind of a virtualization or emulation software. For example, you could use Parallels Desktop or VMware Fusion to run a Windows environment on your Mac. And then you can use Power BI Desktop. You could also use an emulator such as Wine to be able to emulate Windows, and you use it on your Mac. Remember, every time you do that, that you're running two operating systems one on top of another, which means that you're using a lot more memory simply to run Windows on top of Mac OS.
