Integrate custom learning content
- [Narrator] With the LinkedIn Learning Hub subscription, not only will learners have access to the enormous LinkedIn Learning Library of content, but you'll also have the ability to add your organization's own custom content to the platform, making it much easier to access. Let's take a look at how to do this. First, I'm going to navigate up to Content up at the top of my admin dashboard, and from here I'm going to select KinetEco's library. Now remember that KinetEco is the company associated with this account, so this is their custom library. Now inside of here, I can see that they do have some stuff already, learning paths, links, documents, videos. I want to add something to the library though. To do this, I'm going to go up to the top right and click on Add. And from here we can add content, create a learning path or collection. I want to upload content. I'll click on that, and it gives us a couple options. We can upload content right from our device, or we can link to content. So in this case, if we had an outside video or something, we could paste it in here and share that as a resource. Now I want to do both. So in another tab, I have a YouTube video that is from our company, KinetEco, and it's a PSA. I want to share this as a resource in here, so I'm going to paste in that URL and then click on Submit. Now, once I do this, it generates some information and allows me to fill in the rest. So it's telling me a title here. I could change that if I want. I can add a description. (typing) Next, it has the URL, which it already puts in here. You can decide who discovers it, who's able to find it. You can put everyone, maybe selected groups if you only want certain groups to be able to have access to it, or no one. If I put this, then the only way people will see it is if I share a direct link. In this case, I'm going to put everyone. You'll have to add and associate a skill with it. Now, this one doesn't have many skills. I'll put PSAs. You can decide on a thumbnail, it will generate one for you. I don't know if I would necessarily want that as my thumbnail, so you do have the ability to go to default or upload your own. And if you do have the ability to upload your own, I recommend doing that. Below that, you can put in tags here if you want to tag it to make it easier to find later. And you can choose a content language. When you're done, in the bottom right, I'll click on Publish. Once I do this, it prompts me to be able to share this out with learners. So right away I could click in here and start typing the names of learners and share it with them. So in this case, it would go out to all 140 learners. And I can even decide if I want to send an email, notifying them that they now have access to this. If I did, I'll click that on. I'm going to go ahead though and click off of this, 'cause I'm not going to share it with anybody right now. And then I am going to close that out. And like that, I've now added that KinetEco PSA to the KinetEco library, so that custom content is now inside of our library and to be found on LinkedIn Learning. Now I want to add some more content. I'm going to go up here, KinetEco's Library, Add, Upload Content, and then I'll go to upload content inside of this popup. And from here, click Select a File. Now on my desktop, I do have here the introduction from CEO Video. So this is something we want to use in onboarding. I'm going to click on that. It opens it up in here. I can then type in a description. (typing) Next, I'll enter in discoverability. And for this, I want everyone to be able to discover it. I can add in skills that you'll get here, and there aren't really many skills that are associated with this one. I'll put onboarding. Or you can also select that none of them apply to the content, which may be what I would want to do in this case. Now, who's added it, in this case, we'll say KinetEco, the organization. You can choose the thumbnail. Again, if I had a custom one, I could click Upload and then go to choose that on my computer. Currently, I don't have a thumbnail that I would add to this. I would have to create one. So I'm just going to go with this generated image. So for right now, that's what it will look like. I can add tags. I'm going to add orientation tag here, decide the language, and then down below, I can upload captions, making it more accessible, something you should also do. Now at the bottom, when you're done, on the right hand side, you can click Publish. Once you do this, if I refresh the page, we can see here that now that KinetEco introduction from CEO Video is inside here, as well as that KinetEco PSA that I had also added. So take advantage of this and add your organization's custom content to the platform, where you can then share it out, add it to learning paths and more, making it accessible to everyone right inside the LinkedIn Learning platform.
