Invite users
- [Instructor] As a Learning Hub admin, you may be responsible for inviting learners to the platform, so they can activate their license. In this video, let's take a look at how we can go ahead and add new users by email. First, I want to make sure to navigate to my People Management page. I can do this from my admin dashboard, by going to the top, and clicking on the People tab. I'll click here, and this brings me to my People Management page. In the upper-right corner, I can add new users, and when I click on that, I'm going to select add users by email. Now, this is a really intuitive process, but let's go over it. On the left-hand side, we can add the people by email. So, if I have someone here that I wanted to invite, say, Chloe, I can add her. And you'll see that she now appears in this queue. The next thing we need to do is consider any permissions, the invitation email, and groups. So, I have it on permissions right now, and we need to decide if we're going to assign a learning license. Here, I want Chloe to be a learner, so, she does need one of those licenses. I'll select that, and I can see that we have 27 available. Next, you'll have to select the permission level for the user. If they're just someone who is going to be learning on the platform, they would simply remain a user. If you wanted them to be an admin or curator, that's where you would select these permissions down below. So, you could customize that when you're signing them up. Now, in this case, I said I wanted to add a learner, so they would just have that simple user permission level. Next, at the top, I'm going to click on Invitation Email, and this is the email that will be sent out to the learner, asking them to activate their license. I do recommend customizing that email, something we talk about in another video. And then, at the top, we have Groups. So, if you have groups created, again, something we look at in another video, but if you do have them, I'll type in here, the name of a group. I can see it appears, and I could add Chloe, then, to that group. I'll click on Sales. When we're done, I'll go in the bottom right, and click confirm. Now, after you do that, that user will be invited to the platform, and they'll receive an email notifying them to activate their learning account. So, here, if I go in and type, now, for Chloe, I can see that Chloe does appear here in the system. So, Chloe Taylor, basic user, tells us her license type, was just added, and is in the Sales group. Right here, we could take actions, such as view or edit profile, add to another group, send email, manage permissions, manage license. So, it was that simple to add Chloe. Now, I'm going to go back up to the top, click Add new users, Add users by email, and you do have the ability to add more than one person here. So, in other words, if I had Keon, and I add them to the queue, then I also have Lily, who I'm going to add, add them to the queue. And I could continue to add people here. The one thing you'll need to be careful about, when doing it this way, though, is that you'll have to make sure that all of these people are going to have the same licenses and permissions, groups, and so on. So, in other words, if they're here, that might be fine if I'm adding them as learners, because they simply would be users, they have the same invitation email, and maybe they're not in any groups. If that's the case, I could have a bunch of them here, click Confirm, and it would send that out. Now, if you wanted to add users in bulk, this method would take too long, but, thankfully, there's an easier way to do that. Next, let's take a look at how to add a bunch of people to the platform at one time, using a CSV file.
