- [Curt] When you display your data in a pivot table, you might want to show every row, but change the order in which they're displayed. In this movie, I will show you how to apply sorts to pivot table data. My sample file is 03_01_Sort, and you can find it in the Chapter03 folder of the Exercise Files collection. I have this pivot table set up with sales region as the top level in the rows area, and then customer type, either business or individual, in the second position. So I get a subtotal for each of the regions for business and individual, and then a total for the entire region. The regions are sorted in alphabetical order by name, so we start with Central East, North Central East, and continue on down. If I want to sort the regions based on total sales, then I need to go to the row labels control. I'll click that. And then I need to select a field. In this case, sales region is already selected.
