Manage subtotals and grand totals

- [Instructor] Excel PivotTables display your data in as much or as little detail as you prefer. Pivoting and filtering the PivotTable changes how the individual data elements are displayed, but you can also position the subtotals and grand totals for rows and columns to summarize your data as desired. In this movie, I will show you how to work with subtotals and grand totals in a PivotTable. My sample file is 02_01_Totals, and you can find that in the Chapter Two folder of the Exercise Files collection. In this workbook on sheet one, I have a PivotTable that summarizes orders based on the type of customer, business or individual, and then also each of the product categories. At the top of each group, you can see that I have a subtotal, so I have the subtotal for business and then the subtotal for the individual orders and then at the bottom, there's the grand total for the entire column.
