- [Instructor] Identifying duplicates in Excel can be tricky, but let's start with a basic list. Here's a list of cities, and let's say that we extracted it from a larger database so that we could get down to each individual city. You see Chula Vista there twice. We only want one. We might want to put this data into a dropdown list. In that case, we want only one entry per city. So I'm going to click on the list. I am in the Data tab over in Data Tools. I'm going to click on the Remove Duplicate feature. There it is, Remove Duplicate. It wants to know which columns I wanted to check. And so we only have one, and OK. Now it's telling me nine duplicate values had been found and removed. Now we have just the 18 unique entries. Let's go down. Let's sort this, and verify. Okay, we do only have each city one time. This next example, the Warning tab. Did you notice that when I used the duplicate remover, it just removed duplicates? Okay, but now look at this data. I have Chula Vista four…
