- [Narrator] So if you're managing projects, chances are you've run into a Gantt chart. But even if not, let's talk about them because they're very useful for project management. So a Gantt Chart at its core is just a bar chart and that bar chart represents a project schedule from start to finish. Now you can actually encode various other things into it such as tasks and milestones using icons, using color. A lot of different ways to do it, especially in Excel. Now, the original Gantt Chart was designed by Henry Gantt in 1910-ish, and today it's used a lot across project management. So chances are, if you haven't run into it yet, you will run into it soon. Let's talk about the elements of a Gantt Chart real quick. So first part is that bar chart. I said a horizontal bar. That's going to be the duration of each task. Then there's the timescale. So from left to right, you see a time series, and that gives us the total time it takes to complete the project. And finally, there are task…
