Capturing WPA handshakes
- [Instructor] The Wi-Fi Pineapple has the ability to listen on a network and capture WPA handshakes. We'll go to the Raycom page and select my compassed AP and at the slide out panel we'll select capture WPA handshakes. I'll go to the top of the screen to the handshakes panel. We can either actively deal authenticate client devices to force them to reacquire the connection, or we can wait for a new connection to appear. For the purposes of the course, I'll shut down Wi-Fi and start to tip again on my iPad. Okay, let's refresh the screen. We can see that we've captured a WPA handshake and we can now download it as a PCAP file to do further analysis with our normal Wi-Fi testing tools.
