Discovering cryptoanalysis tools
- [Instructor] Where can you go to practice these concepts? I strongly recommend you start with leveraging the popular tools from the CrypTool portal to begin practicing with cryptanalysis. Perhaps what I love the most is that it's a free e-learning program where you can share open source projects and learn to decode and break ciphers. It includes tools like CrypTool-Online or CTO, where you can play around with different algorithms directly in your browser, or you can leverage CrypTool 1, or CT1, which was the initial version offered in six different languages for experimenting with different algorithms on Windows machines. This portal now offers CrypTool2 or CT2, which is a more enhanced version to support visual programming, cascading of cryptographic procedures, et cetera. It includes not only encryption, but cryptanalysis of cipher. But also, there are basics in the whole spectrum of modern cryptography. Finally, you have JCrypTool or JCT, which is more advanced in helping you…
