From the course: Ethical AI for Hiring and Talent Acquisition: A Conversation with Don Phin

How will AI evolve and what trends are coming?

- Don, how do you see AI in hiring evolving over the next few years, and what trends should companies prepare for? - One thing I know for a fact, that we're dealing with accelerating acceleration. Things happening faster and faster at a faster and faster rate. Something we've never experienced in mankind before, okay? This accelerating acceleration. So what I do know is where AI has come over in the last two years, there was before ChatGPT and there's after ChatGPT, right? And that happened just two years ago. Revolutionized things. I'm coaching these executives right now, and they're telling me these problems they had, "Do you use AI for this yet?" I said, "I want to share my screen. I'm going to put your prompt in there. I'll give it some prompts, look what it comes back," and they're like, "Whoa," you know? I'm like, "And when are you going to start using this?" You're either going to eat the technology or you're going to get eaten by the technology, right? So first of all, we've got to be adopters of where it is right now or we're going to get run over. There's no catching up when things go that fast, right? There's only accelerated falling behind, okay? So, if... First thing is we have to get on board now and get ready for one heck of a ride, because that ability to deal with change and a constantly moving situation as it accelerates up, you have to be very open and adaptive to that. How do we do that? We evolve. Just like nature evolves to deal with chaos and disorder, humans need to evolve to deal with the chaos and disorder coming our way, and you do that by experimenting. Nature evolves through experimentation. So experimenting, being willing to be open to experimenting with AI has to be the answer.
