- [Instructor] SmartScreen is a preventative security feature that's built into Windows, and it's going to guard against risky websites and executables. Based on various indicators in the Microsoft Intelligent Security Graph, SmartScreen is going to provide a reputational system that either blocks or at least warns folks before they do something risky. For executables, it's going to use Mark of the Web, and that means that only files downloaded from the internet are going to be assessed. And you know, if you've ever used Edge to download an app installer and you've been warned it might be risky, you've probably touched SmartScreen there. And similarly, if you've ever seen that big red warning page that screams about you that the website might be dangerous, you've probably touched SmartScreen there as well.
