Using optimized media
- If Resolve's render cache system is not solving your computer's performance issues, then you probably want to take a look at its optimized media workflow. Essentially you tell Resolve to pre-render all of your footage to a very lightweight codec that's easy for processing. And then you can switch between your pre-rendered optimized media and your camera original footage whenever you want. The first thing we want to do is set up our optimized media, how we want it to operate. And you do that, again, in project settings. So we're going to press shift + 9. Open up our project settings, here in master settings, down in this optimized media and render cache system. And we've got two different sets of controls here for optimized media. The one I usually choose first is the render format, since that'll have a huge impact on my performance. So let's say I want to do this just to get back some realtime functionality. I'll pick…
