Understanding Resolve databases
- Resolve supports two types of databases, disc databases, and SQL databases. Let's talk a moment about the difference between these two types of databases and why you might choose one over the other. The first question to answer is do I need to work with a team of artists who need to access my database simultaneously from multiple computer stations? And if the answer is yes, then you need to work with a SQL database when you're using DaVinci Resolve. SQL databases allow a single computer to share databases between multiple computers on the same network. You can even use this setup to have a second computer start a few renders for you while you're working on your primary station on another project, the downside is it adds some complexity to database management.
