- If the smart cache is largely an automated system for determining what your computer should be caching, then the user cache, it's the opposite of that. It's a manual caching system that requires you to flag what should be cached. But, you can set up a few rules in user caching, and those rules are found in project preferences. Continuing from our previous movie, I'm going to open Shift nine to open up the project settings. We're going to scroll back down to this optimized media and render cache. And now, we're going to look at these three different sets of checkboxes under the render cache format that we looked at in an earlier movie. By default, automatically, cache fusion effects in user mode. So in other words, if we come up to our playback menu and we come to render cache and put ourselves into user mode, with this checkbox enabled, any of our fusion effects will automatically be cached.
