Enabling timeline proxy mode
- In Resolve 17, Black Magic completely revised what it calls the proxy workflow. The old system is now called the timeline proxy mode. You can still use it in Resolve 17 and later, but if you're in Resolve 16 or earlier, it'll just be called proxy mode. But no matter which version of Resolve you're in, you'll find it in the same place in the same menu. And that menu again is the playback menu. And you'll see here in Resolve 17, it's the timeline proxy mode. And there are three options, it's either off, half resolution, or quarter resolution, and that's literally all it does. So if you're having trouble getting playback, your GPU indicator, your status indicator when you're playing is red. When that happens, sometimes the quickest solution is just come down here, timeline proxy mode, and choose half resolution. What happens when you choose half resolution?
