Creating a disk database - DaVinci Resolve Tutorial
From the course: DaVinci Resolve: Software Features and Workflows
Creating a disk database
- Let's start a new disk database that we'll use for the rest of this course. How do we do that? With our database sidebar open, let's choose the option, new database. This opens up a dialogue and make sure you've selected disk. First, let's name our new database, and you can only use lowercase and underscores in this field. No spaces, no caps, and no special characters. This name is how the database will show up on your sidebar. I'll call this resolve_workflows. Next, let's click on browse and decide where to save this database. Remember, you can save your disk database anywhere on your computer. I recommend saving disk databases on your computer or on your laptop, rather than on a removable hard drive or a network detached drive that might suddenly disappear. Now, this won't corrupt any of your projects. It won't destroy your database, but you won't be able to open anything, and it will stop you in your tracks…
