Backing up and restoring databases
- If you want to archive an entire database or move it to a new computer, you can do that using the Project Manager in the Database sidebar. As you hover over these icons, you'll see a tool tip explaining each one, Backup, Restore, and Connect Database. The first two of these options is pretty obvious, so let's start there. If you want to export a database for safety, to archive, or to move to a new computer, use the Backup command. I'm going to choose to backup my local database, since it has multiple projects in it from our previous course. I do that by making sure it's active, indicated by the orange highlight around that database. Then I'll click on the Backup icon, I'll choose a location for Resolve to place it. Notice that by default, the name of the backup is the name of the database and appended by .resolve.discDB. DiscDB is the file type of a Resolve disc database. SQL backups have a different file…
