- When you're working the primary color wheels, you'll notice down in the bottom, you've got shadows and highlights. Let's take a moment to explore what these two tools do because they're very useful for making very targeted tweaks to your shadows and highlights. And what I typically would do is use this after I've done my initial contrast exposure and let's go to this shot here, shot number five, where we've already done an initial contrast expansion, and let's say we actually wanted, for some reason, we wanted to push this a little bit higher because we like how it works say on some mid tone detail in the shot, but it ends up taking our brightness values a little too high. So how do we adjust that without adjusting the rest of our mid-tones? What we're going to do is option + S into a new node, and then I'm going to come down to my highlights control and just adjust that highlights control. And you see that it allows me…
