- Another place to control your brightness container as I've been talking about in the last couple movies is custom curves. I love custom curves. I use 'em all the time. Let's come back to shot number four. We've already tried it once. Let me go ahead Command+Y and then Command+Home or Control+Home in order to reset my node grade here in version two. And let me kind of walk you through my thinking on using curves for contrast adjustments. Number one, sometimes on a shot like this where it shot LOG, I might not have a lot. I might not know what camera it's coming from. So I have to do this adjustment manually because I don't know what math to apply to it in order to see what the DP saw on set. What I'll do is I'll come into the custom curves and I'll often start by turning off the editable splines so that I've got just a straight linear contrast expansion.
