- As you learn to master the cut page, the first thing you really have to do after learning some of the fundamental interface things we've been talking about is how to control playback with your keyboard. It is so much faster than using the controls underneath the viewer. And the key to the keyboard is the J, K, and L keys. The concept being is that as you type you're going to hover the three fingers that sit over the J,K, and L will control play back, pause, and play forward. Let's take a look at it in action. What we're going to do is switch to one of our timelines. Let's go to our exterior selects. I'll double click that, and now let's navigate up to our B roll. And we're going to start going through and double click on one of our exterior shots. And I'm going to hit the L button to start playing. Now I don't need audio, so I'm going to go ahead and mute the audio. And now I'm pressing L to play and I'll wait for…
