- [Instructor] A dashboard is a visual display of key metrics that provides an at a glance view into a topic. This topic could be the overall company performance or perhaps a view into how a specific process is working. In order for the dashboard to be useful, it needs to be designed in a way that allows people to look at it and immediately process the information and to be able to make decisions based on what is presented. Metrics should be grouped into logical sets and there should be a flow as you read through from top left to bottom right. We also want to ensure that the dashboard is not overcrowded with too many charts and graphs in a single visualization. Making use of white space will enable the viewer to better focus their eyes on important information. Also, consider the type of visualizations you use.
