What you should know

- Before diving into this course, you should have a foundational understanding of WordPress, including how to navigate the dashboard, create and manage posts and pages, and install plugins. Basic coding knowledge is also essential, specifically in HTML, CSS, and PHP. Experience with JavaScript and WordPress hooks will give you an edge. If you've tinkered with WordPress themes or written a few custom functions and functions of that PHP, you're in the right place. A local development environment is highly recommended as we'll write, test, and debug custom plugins. An important thing also to note is for a second plugin, which deals with creating a contact form, you will need a staging or live environment to test out this plugin. Bring your curiosity, creativity, and a willingness to learn as you're about to create your first functional and shareable WordPress plugin.
