- You've built out your social media plugin, given it some cool functionality, and added some beautiful styles. Now it's time for us to see our plugin work. Make sure you save your files. Another note; this plugin is made to work on sites that have HTTPS set up. If you're working from an unsecured test environment, you'll either need to secure your site or test it on another secure environment. You can also test it on a live or staging environment like we did for our contact form, as long as it's secure. Now, go to your Settings and save changes under your permalinks. Next, navigate to Plugins in your WordPress Dashboard. Find your Simple Social Sharing social media plugin and activate it. Once you have the plugin activated, let's go create a page worthy of being shared by our plugin. Go to Pages and create a new page. Open up your file 03_04, it should be a document file.
