What you should know
- [Instructor] I'm so excited to share the goodness of CSS Grid and Flexbox with you. But before we get started, let me just tell you what this class is and what it isn't. This course is not a course for beginners. If you are a beginner, take some other classes and then come back. I'd love to show you these powerful layout tools when you're ready to take the plunge. You should be comfortable with web file management. You should be familiar with coding web pages. You should have a good grasp of HTML and CSS markup. You should have some familiarity with Grid and Flexbox. While I will briefly cover the overall features of each layout module, I do not dive extensively into every granular sub property and potential value. I will give you a quick overview and offer you some challenges along the way so you feel confident using them independently before we start to combine them and use them in a larger, more involved project. You should be comfortable using the developer tools in your modern browser of choice. So what do you need? Well, you need a computer. You're going to need an IDE. I will using Atom in this course, but if your preferred editor is something else, you should have no problem. And finally, you need a couple modern browsers, so you can test what we're building. And you also need to be excited about learning and how to harness the power of Flexbox and Grid to build better, more efficient and beautiful web content. Let's do this.
