- [Lecturer] Slab edges can be tricky. We use the slab edge function to create a thickened slab condition where slab bears on our foundation walls, or next to it. Or actually anywhere where we want our thickened slab. To do his, we've involve an actual profile that is loaded into our model. We can then use that profile and the slab edge family, to create the concrete haunch. Let's do it. Let's jump into Revit. On your models, let's go to open. I'm going to grab 05_02_SlabEdges, and we'll click open. On the structural plans, let's go down to level one. Now, we want to add a thickened slab edge to this edge. Well, to all four or edges. Go to the structure tab, click the floor drop down. Let's go to floor slab edge. So slab edge thickened, 24 by 12. We see we have our rebar cover. In the next chapter, we'll look at that.
