The Acrobat interfaces

- [Instructor] So in this video, I wanted to talk one more time about the introduction of the new Acrobat interface in the latest version of Adobe Acrobat DC. And the reason I brought this up is because I felt like users may get confused watching this course if they're using one interface versus another. Now, currently what we're looking at here is we're looking at the new Adobe Acrobat interface. And what makes it new, so to speak, is that over here on the right is where your navigation pane lives. And this is where you'll find your tags pane, your content pane, so on and so forth. And then your tools, they're going to be found over here on the left side of your screen. This is where we access all of our tools. Now, the reason I bring this up, once again, is because the new version of Acrobat DC, when you install it, it shows the new interface. And for people who have been using Acrobat for quite some time, this can be very disruptive. Now, one of the things that's helpful to know is that if you come up here to the menu button, you'll notice there's a command called Disable New Acrobat. And if you choose that, Acrobat is going to ask you to restart, and it'll basically then reopen your file with the old Acrobat interface. And you'll notice that everything is reversed. Over here on the left is where your navigation pane is. You'll find your tags pane, you'll find your content pane, your bookmarks, your pages, so on and so forth. And then way over here on the right is where you'll find your tools. So here we can access our accessibility tool that everybody is using. We can also access edit PDF, commenting, fill and sign, so on and so forth. So again, the reason I bring this up is because I've updated this course. And so when it comes to working in Adobe Acrobat, in chapter three, I show you how to work in Adobe Acrobat using the old interface. And in chapter four, I'm now showing you how to do the work in Acrobat using the new interface. Now, again, I mentioned this previously, but I have it on good accord that in future releases of Adobe Acrobat, we are not going to be able to disable the new interface. We're basically going to be stuck with it. And so I'm not here to tell you which interface you should use. I'm here to show you how to do your work in whichever interface you choose. However, moving forward, I know I personally have decided to try to get used to the new Acrobat interface because if they, in the next version, decide not to allow me to disable it, I'm going to have to get used to it. So I'm just here guys as a messenger. I'm just here to kind of relay information and let you know where we are in the life cycle of Adobe Acrobat right now. And I just want you to know that currently you can use the old interface or the new interface independently of one another, but moving forward, we may not be able to have a choice. So for now, I want my course to be as evergreen as possible. And so regardless of which interface you choose to use, watch chapter three if you're using the old interface. Watch chapter four if you're using the new interface.
