Disable the auto date/time setting
- [Instructor] Okay, so in this sub lesson we're going to disable the auto date-time setting, which we had insured was set back at the very beginning of the course. Okay, so what I want to do here first though, is explain why we're going to do this in the first place. So if I go and take a look at my customer table, I'm going to see that I've got a column here called birth date. And given that I've got the auto date-time settings turned on, this column here, which is set as a date, will automatically get a hierarchy built on it whether I like it or not. So birth date has been declared as a date data type. And therefore probably automatically build this thing called a date hierarchy that goes year, quarter, month, date. And it will do that for every column that it sees in your data model, this is of the date data type. So same thing here with my order date. I've got the order date and order date table.
