- [Instructor] So here's a simple date hierarchy. So for example, this is a very common way of building hierarchies is you have your years at the top, we have the months at the next level and then underneath the individual months are the individual physical days that show up in a month. So we could say January first rolls up into January. In this particular hierarchy, we don't have a quarter that sits there. It rolls directly into the year but we could actually add another level to this if we wanted to. So this is a sample date hierarchy. Here's one that is around products. So this is the dimension we're going to go ahead and build next is where we take our individual physical products at the lowest level. Those will roll into a product subcategory and then those subcategories ultimately roll up into categories. So for example, we've got a product category of bikes.
