- [Presenter] Okay, so in this sub lesson, we're going to do a comprehensive example of bringing together the concepts of the calculated columns and our measures. So what the goal of this is, is to create a DAX expression that allows you to go ahead and slice and dice total margin percentage. So when a business user comes to you, none of them will ever go ahead and say, "Hey, can you curate me a calculator column or a measure?" They're just going to tell you what they want and how they want to use it, and it's up to you to interpret how to best implement that inside of Power BI. So what I'm going to do here is let's go ahead first and start walking down the path that users would typically go down. So when I find new users, DAX, coming into the language, and especially those that come from the Excel world, I tend to find that there's a heavy reliance on calculated columns.
