Copilot: Measuring variability
- [Instructor] Okay, let's see how Copilot can help us work through variability. So here we have our table. And the table includes test scores for a number of students. We've seen this table a few different times now. And what we're going to do is we're going to see what the standard deviation is. So let's just ask this simple question. We are sitting inside the table, so here we go. Alright, so we've asked what's the formula for the standard deviation of the test scores? Alright, so it's given us two different options. And that's great because what it's telling us is, well, you actually have two different ways to do this, and it really depends on what you're looking for. The first one is are we looking for the standard deviation if this is the total population? Let's go ahead and copy this. In which case the standard deviation is 13.197. And let's put that here. This is for the standard deviation of the population. but it's saying if this isn't the total population, if instead it's…
