(soft music) - [Instructor] In this demonstration, we're going to see how to configure VLANs. Specifically we have four goals. To begin with, we'll see what a switches VLAN database looks like by default before we do anything. Then we'll see how we can add VLANs, how we can give them a number, how we can give them a name. But by default, after we create a VLAN, it does not contain any interfaces. So we're going to assign those interfaces or assign those ports to VLANs. And by the way, when we're talking about an ethernet switch, I'm going to be using the terms port and interface interchangeably, and then we'll see how to delete a VLAN and I'll give you a big warning about something you need to do before deleting a VLAN. Now, let's go out to the live interface and configure VLANs. To begin with on switch 1 let's see what VLANs we have right now. And to do that we can say show VLAN press enter.
