Layer 2 EtherChannel configuration

Layer 2 EtherChannel configuration

(soft music) - In this video, we're going to demonstrate how to configure a Layer 2 EtherChannel. Layer 2, meaning that the virtual port that we create for the EtherChannel, it's going to be called a port channel port. It's going to be acting as a layer 2 port, a switch port as opposed to a routed port. And we're going to begin by creating a 2-port EtherChannel. And then we're going to build a trunk that flows over that EtherChannel. That's a great place to have a trunk because an EtherChannel is going to give us extra bandwidth. And once we've completed our configuration, we're going to take a look at some verification commands. Next, we're going to see how we can tweak the default configuration a bit, if we're not happy with our load balancing algorithm. Remember that EtherChannel is not doing a round robin load balancing. And we'll see how to take a look at what load balancing algorithm we are using and if we want to, how to change it. Now let's go out to the live gear and set up a…
