- [Instructor] When you are managing your references and your underlays, there will be times when you need to manipulate image and underlay frames. Now when I say image and underlay frames you sometimes underlay an image or a frame underneath a drawing so that you can geolocate perhaps this new office proposal in the area, the actual physical area where it's going to be. Now we've got the New Office Proposal_HOST.dwg file open. We still have our Landscaping Area Ref.dwg file attached there as an external reference as well. What we're going to do, we're going to create a new layer first, going to the Home tab on the ribbon, into the Layers panel and click on Layer Properties. We're going to click on New Layer and the new layer is going to be called underlays, like so. Press Enter to confirm the layer name.
