Create and apply annotation styles (OVERVIEW)

- [Instructor] We're starting a new chapter now, which is all about design annotation and detailing. Design annotation and detailing are really important in your AutoCAD drawings. Design annotation and detailing communicates your design intent on a drawing and lets people know sizes, angles, radii, diameters, et cetera. It's really important that you utilize those annotation tools within AutoCAD to make sure that people know what's going on with your design. Now, the design annotation and detailing chapter, again, is broken down into various sections that we will be covering. The first section we'll be covering is create and apply annotation styles. So that's what we're going to be looking at and we're going to be utilizing this particular drawing, which is called Metal Plate_Rev1.dwg. So you know the drill by now. Download that from the library. Make sure you've got that drawing in a known location. Open it up. Go to the model tab and you should see what is on the screen right now. You'll notice there's a lot of layout tabs in this particular drawing, but you need to be in the model tab for this particular section of the chapter. So once you've got the drawing open, we can jump into the videos for this particular section and start looking at how we create and apply annotation styles in our AutoCAD drawings. Again, I can't guarantee that there will be this particular topic in your exam for your AutoCAD certified professional exam but what I can guarantee is once you've done and worked through these videos, you'll have a good understanding of how to create and apply annotation styles in your AutoCAD drawings.
