- [Instructor] Nobody wants to build a product that customers or end users are not happy about. As Steve Jobs said, "You have to start with the customer's experience "and work backwards to the technology." You lose touch with reality if you don't understand the customer's experience. Let me share something with you. The only way you can avoid a failed product is by identifying the real customers and their needs and wants. You have some homework to do for your customers. In this video and the next one, we will cover the prep work that you need to do to identify and understand your customers. This must be done before creating your user story map. The first step to identifying your customers is to ask who are the customers of the targeted market? Who are the prospective or existing customers of the product?
