- [Instructor] Often when working on larger 2D floor plans, such as the one you can see on the screen, it's a good idea to create named views. Those named views can then be brought into viewports in your layout tabs. Now we've got a drawing for you to go through this particular AutoCAD tip and trick, and it's called 398 Inserting Named Views.dwg. And what we're going to do, we're going to work with some existing named views that are in the drawing, but we're going to develop a viewport arrangement in our layout tab that allows us to bring those named views into each individual viewport automatically. So just make sure in the home tab on the ribbon, in the layers panel, you are on the viewports layer. If you're on the viewports layer, that's good, because we're going to be creating viewports utilizing our named views. Now named views can be accessed in two ways.
