- [Instructor] We're going to take a look at how we can work more deeply with external reference files or Xrefs in AutoCAD in this particular AutoCAD tip and trick. Now we've got some drawings for you to download. Make sure you download both of them to the same folder. What I've done here is I've set up AutoCAD with the Xref so the AutoCAD will look for the Xref in the same folder. I'll explain why in a moment. So you've got the drawing 400 CLIP & Adjust X-Refs.dwg. You can see that one on the screen. It is a little office layout there and we've got some landscaping outside the office on the right hand side. That is the Xref file, the external reference file. So that is this drawing here, 400 Landscaping.dwg. So make sure you download both of those files to the same folder. I'll go back to the 400 CLIP and Adjust Xrefs like so.
