Importing an existing P&ID file to the project
- [Instructor] During the life cycle of an engineering project, the P&ID is constantly modified and updated. Often we can reuse existing drawings in order to add information to our design without having to spend time redrawing components. Very important to understand the correct way to reuse existing drawings without compromising the integrity of the project data. Let's take a look at chapter two. To start with, I'm going to open up drawing 02_01_PID. So, let's go ahead and open that. And look at data manager. So, I'll close this down. If you don't have data manager open, you can open it here. So what we do is to look at the P&ID project data. If you're set right now on current drawing data, change it to the full project. So what we'll do is we're going to look at the equipment, and specifically let's take a look at these pumps. So, let's scroll down. It's going to show you all the pumps that exist inside this project. We'll see that when we add new pumps, their tags will show up…
