- [Instructor] In this video, we're going to take a look at how we can calculate our beam deflections in a beam on an AutoCAD mechanical drawing. And again, the AutoCAD mechanical tool set does all of these calculations for you, saving a huge amount of time. Now the drawing we've got for this is beam deflection, CALCS.dwg. And you can download it from the library as usual to follow along with the video. Open it up in the model tab, and just make sure you do a double click on the wheel of the mouse to zoom extents. You should recognize some of the content over here on the left. There's all our moment of inertia calculations. Now the lovely thing about the moment of inertia calculations is each one of these little tables is actually a moment of inertia calculation.
