Why should you transition into 3D?
- [Shaun] So why should you transition into 3D with AutoCAD? AutoCAD is primarily used for 2D drafting. However, it can also be used for 3D modeling. Most of my AutoCAD courses in the library are based around just the two dimensions, represented by the X and Y axes in AutoCAD. You'll see that down here, X and Y. In this course, I'm going to take you into that third dimension, the Z axis, where I will introduce you to the 3D concepts and methodologies you can use in the full version of AutoCAD. I'll also show you how to use the 3D features and commands in AutoCAD to your full advantage so that 3D work in AutoCAD becomes second nature. 3D modeling in AutoCAD also opens a whole world of opportunities, such as 3D printing and non-destructive prototyping, and also finite element analysis, just to name a few. Being able to model in 3D in AutoCAD takes you into a whole new world of computer aided design. So join me, Shaun Bryanat, as I take you through the 3D essentials you need to know in AutoCAD.
