- [Instructor] We're starting a new chapter now and we're going to look at some of the tools that allow you to create your 3D design in AutoCAD. So for that purpose, we've got a new drawing for you. It looks remarkably similar to other drawings but it's called 3D Design.dwg. And basically, you can download it from the exercise files as before, and make sure you've got it open before you start the video so that you can obviously follow along with the videos in this particular chapter. Now, the first thing we're going to look at with our 3D Design.dwg file is the ELEV command. E-L-E-V, which actually stands for elevation. But what it allows you to do is it allows you to set up an elevation and a thickness by way of a default value so that you can work quickly and easily in your 3D design.
