Using Boolean functions in 3D AutoCAD
- [Instructor] We're staying in our 3D design .dwg file. And what I want to show you now when you're creating your 3D design is the Boolean functions in AutoCAD. Now, when you think, okay, what does Boolean mean? It's not something from "Star Trek" or anything like that at all. Boolean functions are algebra functions when you're working with 3D solids. And the lovely thing about AutoCAD is it does all of the hard mathematical work for you. Now, if you go to the home tab on the ribbon in your 3D modeling workspace, you'll see you've got a Solid Editing panel. And these ones here where you've got Solid Union, Solid Subtract, Solid Intersect are the main Boolean functions in AutoCAD. Now what we're going to do is we're going to go over to our Layers panel here. And you'll remember, we've got a 3D Solid layer on the dropdown. Make sure you're on your 3D Solid layer as your current drafting layer. And then what we're…
