Creating a simple dynamic block in an AutoCAD drawing
- [Instructor] Once again, we're staying in our New Office Project.dwg file. And what we're going to do this time is create a very simple dynamic block, so that we can reuse it, and also give it some dynamic parameters and actions. Now you'll notice, down here, we have a line and an arc representing our door. In our door opening. What I'd like you to do is zoom in close on that and bring it front and center like so. Select the line, select the arc. You'll notice they're on the wrong layer. They're on the Walls layer for a start, but I'd like you to put them onto the Zero layer. So select them both, go to the Layer dropdown, select Zero, hit Escape a couple of times. You can see that they are now on the Zero layer. Go to the Layer dropdown again and make the current drafting layer Doors, like so. Now a simple dynamic block is very, very easy to create. We're going to go to the Inserts tab on the ribbon, and into the Block Definition panel and click on Create Block again. Now you'll…
