Creating and inserting a block
We're staying in our new OfficeProject.dwg file and you can see we're zoomed in to the bins like we were in the previous video. Just double click on the wheel to zoom extent. Now we're going to take a look at creating and inserting blocks into your AutoCAD drawings. Now blocks are incredibly useful, they allow you to reuse design content left, right and center and the good thing is any AutoCAD object or objects can be made into a block. Now we're going to create some workstation blocks so before we do that we go to the home tab on the ribbon go to the layer properties here and click on new layer like so and we're going to call the layer workstations because ideally you want your blocks to go on their own respective layers. Press ENTER after you've put the name in, I'm going to change the color here to color 210 so I'm just going to type it in here 210 like so and then click on OK and you can see it's a magenta type color. Make sure that line type is continuous, line weight is default.…
