Set up releases

In agile projects, releases are used to distribute production-ready deliverables. If you bundle multiple sprints into a release, it's helpful to create summary tasks, to hold feature tasks, and for building and publishing each release. Let's start by displaying the Gantt Chart view. On the Task tab, click the top half of the Gantt Chart button. And here we can see our features as tasks in a table suppose the initial release planning identifies two releases. Well, before we add a release, let's actually add a summary task to hold all of the features in this project. Drag over the Task ID cells to select all the rows. Then go to the Insert section of the Task tab and click Summary. That adds a new row and it says New Summary Task. The Task Name cell is selected, so I can just start typing the name, which is Features. Now let's insert a summary task at the bottom for Release 1. Click the first blank Task Name cell then go up and click Summary Task again. We'll name this Release 1. When I…
