Hybrid projects: How agile and traditional work together
Hybrid projects use a mixture of traditional waterfall and agile or other iterative approaches. Let's look at how methodologies work together in a hybrid project. Your project lifecycle will depend on the type of project. A typical lifecycle goes something like conception, planning, build, test, and deploy. A construction project life cycle might include contracting, planning, design, procurement, and construction. A hybrid project has some common areas where you work on the overall project at a high level. For example, the high-level concept, overall project planning, and deployment. In our example project, the ConnectEco project starts with project conception. From that effort, suppose we determine that part of the project, we'll use traditional techniques and part will be agile.
